Real quick...

After posting how much I was enjoying this "quality" time with Liam...
I was in the kitchen cleaning and a song came on the radio that Liam likes. I hear him say form the playroom, "dis my song". So I turn it up and go in and try to dance with him. He was really focused on his cars. He looked up at me and said "Leave me alone!". Who knew I was an annoying mom!?! I thought I was hip and cool. Not so much. He apparently isnt enjoying my company as much as I am his...2 year olds always know how to put you in your place.

These days...

ARE FABULOUS!!For those of you who don't know, I lost my job 2 weeks ago. (I like to say Liam got fired. Ha Ha!) While I was sad for it to be over, I was strangely relieved. Even though I have worked for the Hollidays for forever and I love their family dearly, it just wasn't working with Liam going with me anymore. I totally understand why they needed something else, and I was surprised to feel like this was probably also the best thing for Liam too. I loved working for the Hollidays. It was great while it lasted. (and it lasted quite some time!)But now, I have no idea what I am going to do!! I have made all the usual considerations. Nanny again, in home daycare, 9-5 with Liam in daycare, weekend job...but none of those really seem like a great option. So, I am working on my tea business and just enjoying my time off with Liam. And let me tell you, IT IS GREAT! I wish it could just stay this way forever. I have put a few applications in, and have sent a few emails out inquiring for jobs. I have decided that when the right thing comes along I will know it. I am just going to focus for now on this great period of time where I am home with my baby all day doing whatever we want! This morning we made tea together and then Liam sat outside at our patio table and drank his tea in a little tea cup. He looked so cute! He is such an old soul. While I have this time "off" I would love to visit Australia but financially it isn't going to be possible. Sorry Meme and Grandpa! I guess this means that you guys are just going to have to come here! Davia, you too! Jared, Jack, Phylene...you too! O, and you Rox!! I miss you guys. It looks like we are going to make a trip up to Illinois though. Liam is stoked! He keeps saying "me fly". Gigi, he can't wait to see you! Anyways, I am going to post some pics tonight hopefully. There are some great ones of him riding his bike naked! HILARIOUS! Hope everybody is enjoying their week like I am! Love from Liam!

Ode to my Mommy...

I am a lucky girl. I was blessed to have a very loving mother. Mom, I really miss you and wish I was able to be with you more often. I love you and miss you! Happy Mothers Day!
Tonnie, even though you aren't my mommy, I am still blessed by you. Thanks for being a great grandma to my son! We love you. Happy Mothers day!

Today Liam and I skipped his nap. We had way too many fun things to do! First we went to Smoothie King. Liam loves smoothies! Then we were on our way to the park, when we passed Pet Smart. Liam loves Pet Smart! So we made a "quick" little stop there. Liam is such an animal lover! He made his way to EVERY animal in the place! He is particularly fond of the fish...which works for me. Last week, he got a new fish which he promptly named "Ming Ming". (in honor of his favorite Wonder Pets character...)He treats this fish like a dog, its hilarious. He had me put the fish on the fire place ledge, then he pushed his chair over to it, grabbed a few books, and began "reading" to Ming Ming. He is too cute! Anyways, after Pet Smart we made a stop at the park. He also loves the park! We probably go close to everyday! Then from there we dropped in on my Aunt Julia. Liam had a grand time there! He made himself right at home! He ate their pizza, drank their juice and then told me he was ready to go! I figured at that point it was better to just keep him up and put him to be slightly early. That didn't happen. Liam was unusually cuddly and sweet, so he "talked me into" staying up til 9pm. I am such a sucker. Then around 10pm I heard him crying for me. I went in and he said "Momma rock me like baby". How can you say no to that?! We sat in the dark rocking for a good 30 minutes until he was clearly asleep. It was great. I wish I could hold him like that forever. I cant believe how big he is getting so fast. He is the best thing in my life and its hard to see how fast the time is going. He may not be old enough to get me a mothers day gift, but I think today and tonight was his special little gift to me in some way. He is the best! I love being his Mom. Happy Mothers Day to me!

And it begins...

Lately Liam has started something I must say that I am not a huge fan of. Well, actually 2 things. 1st thing- "Mama, I want my gawk." (Liam for milk)"Your milk is on the table, go get it." "No, Mama do." "No, Liam do." "NO!MAMA DO!!!!" NOT COOL. I thought I had at least 5 years before he started ordering me around. 2nd thing- "Mama, I wann jello beas pwease." "No Liam. You have had enough jelly beans today." "My ask Dada."...WHAT!? He is already playing me and Bill!! What a smart little kid! Bill and I are going to have to be on our A game for this one.
Also, on the "gawk" thing. Very funny. I find myself speaking "Liam" a lot. "Liam, would you like some gawk?" I cant remember the last time I actually called milk, milk. I called it "gawk" at work the other day and my boys lost it. They thought it was so funny that I am now speaking "Liam".

David Turner

I am not done with you yet. No Sir! I wasn't going to blog about this but you have been so heavily on my mind and I wanted you to know that. For some reason I am not good at picking up the phone and telling you that I love you so much and it terrifies me that you wont be here forever. Please try to stay healthy. I want Liam to know you and love you like I do. I named him after you because of how much I admire about you and the man you are. I love you Dad.

"Mama, I see two dogs..."

So yesterday was Bill's birthday. Happy 26th Dada. So Bill is in Vegas for the weekend and I am home alone with Liam. Hopefully he is going to come back a rich man. Mama needs a trip home. It is probably just that my house is so darn quite right now (Liam is asleep.) but I seriously need a family fix. I did not grow up in a quite house. I don't know what to do with the silence. I always thought I would grow up and live down the street from my parents. (and I assumed this would be in Texas) Life is so strange. I read a quote the other day that keeps playing in my head..."If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans for the future." So true. Who knew that guy from my 9th grade English class would the father of my future son!? (I seriously thought he was cute but most likely did drugs...maybe is was the black nirvana shirts and chain wallet!? LOL!)It is just so strange how things turn out. I miss my family.
Liam and I had a good day though. Aunt Lisa came over to play. We went to lunch and to Art in the Square in Southlake. Good times. Liam got some super cute new flip flops and clothes from Gymboree. He also managed to point out EVERY dog and made me stop so he could get out to pet them. Suddenly he is a real dog lover. It makes me wonder if he was switched at birth with my "real" son. Maybe he gets that from you Tonnie?

Happy Birthday Aunt Kate!
Liam this time last year...man has he grown up!!!
Liam loves you Grandpa! Happy Birthday old man!

Good Golly, can my kid talk?! Lately he just will not be quiet. At lunch I was trying to get him to eat and he would not stop saying "Mama, I wan jelo bun". I had no idea what that meant. "Just eat your lunch please Liam." "No Mama! I wan jelo bun! JELO BUN!! JELO BUN!!!" "Fine Liam, show me what you want." So he gets down from the table and runs over to the counter. I pick him up and he grabs...drum roll please....JELLY BEANS! Of course! Jelo bun clearly means jelly beans!!! Mom, this is so your grandson! He loves himself some jelly beans.
Speaking of my parents....HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY! I love you! I wish I could have been with you today! This world is way too big and you are way too far away.
